Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 And Galaxy Ring FCC Listing Reveals Key Details

Oh, one thing that ardent fans of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 might be a little disappointed with is the slight increase in battery capacity. Previous leaks assumed that Samsung was working on a combined capacity of 4,000 mAh for the Flip 6, but the new leaks claim that it’s only a slight bump from the Flip 5’s 3,600 mAh. On a more positive note, the battery size of the Samsung Ring has also been leaked and looks quite competitive.

A historically reliable leaker has just posted screenshots of the suspected Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 5G and Galaxy Ring in the FCC database. Notably, the listing shows battery information for both devices. The next-generation Flip 6 (model number SM-F741U), like before, has a battery in each half of the clamshell form factor. The certification indicates that the new phone will come with a combined capacity of 3,887 mAh. In comparison, the Z Flip 5 has a battery capacity of 3,591 mAh, which is an 8.3% (296 mAh) increase in the new model.

Users of any of the current foldable phones know that battery life is not their strong suit. When rumors surfaced that the Flip 6 would have a 4,000 mAh battery, fans cheered in the streets. So, on one hand, the 3,887 mAh battery capacity might be a disappointment, but on the other hand, it’s close enough to the magic 4,000 mAh that Samsung might actually sell the device that way. Also, let’s not forget that the Flip 6 will come with Qualcomm’s powerful and efficient Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which could lead to even more battery life.

As for the highly anticipated Galaxy Ring, despite the potential “Samsung Health” paywall, the FCC listing suggests that its battery capacity will be between 17 and 22 mAh (depending on ring size), which is on par with many of its competitors. The Oura Ring, for example, has a battery capacity of 15 to 22 mAH. Samsung claims that the Galaxy Ring will last up to 9 days, while the Oura Ring will actually last around 7 days.

In terms of size, the Galaxy Ring is available in sizes 5 to 12. As with most smart bracelets today, there is no half-size option.

To summarize, these numbers for the Flip 6 and Galaxy Ring should be accurate, not only because they appear to have been obtained from the FCC, but also because statistics for the Flip 6, with the same battery capacity, were recently found on the PSI Testing and Certification LTD website.
